Thousands of Italians smuggle cash in and out of the country every year in a bid to beat the system and yet for everyone that is caught there are countless others who slip under the radar of overworked border guards.
As well as the tried and tested method of ‘hunches and suspicious activity’ Italian customs officers have also been using a pair of British trained sniffer dogs called Tango and Cash who can smell large amounts of money being carried by travellers.
